The natural tiles are made from slabs of naturally occurring material like granite, marble and sandstone.  Since there is a significant amount of wastage involved in cutting and transporting these tiles from quarries where they are mined, the natural tiles are expensive.

Artificial tiles are made from porcelain or ceramic and relatively cheaper.
